It's the claim that reason itself is immaterial and that atheists in fact, rely on the immaterial, because reason is "objective and immaterial".
I covered this silly claim in two posts I did called My Comments About An Illogical Christian's YouTube Video and also My Comments About An Illogical Christian's YouTube Video: The Author Responds.
I guess I don't have much else to say about these silly claims, just the fact that, as I said in these posts, the entire process of critical thinking is because of your brain - your material brain. Our thoughts are derived from our brain, and I would conclude that these thoughts are not immaterial at all, because as I said, we know which parts of the brain we use for different kinds of cognition, and we are able to study our thoughts.
Do we claim that television signals are immaterial, when we use our TV's? Do we view the electromagnetic radiation waves coming from a microwave as immaterial? Do you view the workings of a computer as immaterial, because our brains function much like a computer? No we don't! Just because some materialistic process causes something to occur that we cannot view with our naked eye, doesn't mean something is immaterial.
This claim is so absurd...
Theists will try and find any little argument against our materialistic existence, even if it doesn't make the least bit of sense.
UPDATE! 1-7-08
I wanted to share one other false claim real fast. They are the so called "faith healings". James Randi exposed televangelist Peter Popoff as a fraud in the late 80's, showing that his wife was sending him messages through a wireless mic, telling him the audience members' names and their conditions, to make it appear that he had amazing powers given by god. Yet, it was all a lie.
Here is a short video about this:
UPDATE! 2-13-08
I just found a few more videos of James Randi debunking another fraud, Uri Geller.
Just more evidence against supernatural claims...
Update - 4-27-10
I recently had an interesting discussion with a nice christian on the same topic that the above apologist came at me with, about thoughts being immaterial. During this discussion I presented irrefutable evidence that thoughts are not immaterial and the christian clearly had no counter argument. You can find our discussion reproduced here.
