Recently, a video leaked onto the internet via WikiLeaks shows a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff. Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded. For further information please visit the special project website www.collateralmurder.com. [excerpted from the above website] Even major news outlets, such as Yahoo.com have reported about the video.
Warning: The video you are about to watch is very graphic, depicting horrible acts of indiscriminate murder by our military.
Honestly, war itself incites to brutality. The marines, beloved men and women, are KILLERS, to be keen, yet they are sanctioned killers. It is their job and duty to murder, to purge and maim our would be enemies, and at that, to demoralize our opposition. The words 'enemy' and 'hostilities' imply a malevolent counter-force, but in reality, war is immoral in and of itself. Soldiers act, and are ammoral. They are weapons, and there is no place for doubt or mercy in their conscience, for their actions have been weighed by a greater conscience. I am surprised at those whom question the indescriminate killing of our venerable murderers and protectors. If anything, remember that a warrior is but a means of deliverance, a bullet in a barrel, aimed and fired by the politicians.
