A new book about atheists and atheism is currently in the works. Chris Johnson, a New York-based photographer, is going around the world taking pictures of famous, and not so famous, atheists along with getting their personal stories.
This sounds like a very interesting project and I think it will be a great addition to the massive amounts of atheist literature being published the last several years.
You can find more about the project at the donation site.
He also has website called http://www.theatheistbook.com/
I am curious about your thoughts on moral law and how they came to be.
ReplyDeleteRsmith,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I'm not sure what you mean exactly by “moral law” but I have discussed my views on morality in several blog posts if you'd like to take a look:
1. I discuss morality and law in my series about my personal philosophy in The Tao of Arizona Atheist (See in particular the posts “The Subjectivity of Morality” and “The Social Contract”)
2. Relative Morality and the Social Contract
What I meant by moral law was the inner knowledge of what is right and wrong. I will look up what you have written previously. Here is another question. Have you discussed why most civilizations have worshiped a higher power throughout history? Where did this need come from?
