Obama Lies About Drone Strikes

In a recent virtual interview president Obama claimed that there had been very few civilian casualties due to drone strikes, and that these strikes are carefully done to prevent loss of excessive human life. Well, a few days after this interview The Bureau of Investigative Journalism released a report exposing the fact that drone strikes have resulted in roughly 282 to 535 civilian deaths. In some cases public gatherings were specifically targeted. The report says in part,

[R]esearch by the Bureau has found that since Obama took office three years ago, between 282 and 535 civilians have been credibly reported as killed including more than 60 children. A three month investigation including eye witness reports has found evidence that at least 50 civilians were killed in follow-up strikes when they had gone to help victims. More than 20 civilians have also been attacked in deliberate strikes on funerals and mourners. The tactics have been condemned by leading legal experts.

I find this dishonesty to be abhorrent. I find it even more despicable given the fact that innocent people have been murdered and the government lies to try to cover it up (though in most cases their lies are always exposed. Most people are too ignorant, unfortunately, to dig any deeper and find out the truth).
